The Paradise Valley Aikido Group (Japanese translation “Paradaisu Aikikai”) is located in Livingston, Montana, and has a direct lineage to the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba (O’Sensei). We are accredited by the International Aikido Federation with world headquarters located in Tokyo, Japan. This is the original school of Aikido and is sometimes known simply as “Honbu dojo.”
We operate under the auspices of Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU) which is headed by Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. He is the last and longest tenured (15 years) Uchi deshi (live-in student) of Aikido’s founder. Because of this direct line of transmission, Paradaisu Aikikai continues the legacy of O’Sensei with the instruction of traditional Aikido technique and philosophy.
ASU senior instructors travel across North America, South America, and Europe to assist with local dojo instruction.
